Thomas W. Wallace
Passed: Thursday May 4, 2017

Thomas William Wallace of Uniontown, PA passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017. He was born in Munhall, PA on February 24, 1927 to the late Clyde S. Wallace and Fanny Anderson Wallace. In addition to his parents Tom was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Wallace. Tom was a buyer for Metzler’s Department Store in Uniontown and Laurel Mall for 30 years. He was a devoted member of Asbury United Methodist Church where he served as Treasurer of the United Methodist Men, usher and a member of the Methodist Men’s Sunday School Class. Tom was a member of the Uniontown Rotary Club for 50 years and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He served as President in 1981-82 and Treasurer for 18 years of the Rotary Youth Exchange program. Tom loved playing golf and achieved a hole-in-one several years back. He was Treasurer of the Fayette County Senior Golf Association for 8 years; he also enjoyed bowling with the 206 League at Manor Lanes. Tom will be missed by his wife of 70 years, Donna Colledge Wallace, whom he married on April 28, 1947. Also surviving are two sons, Thomas F. (Karla) of Denver, NC, and Randall C. (Donald Smith) of East Hampton, NY; daughter, Wendy (Daniel) Cohen of Denver, NC; three grandchildren Thomas (Teri) Wallace, Brian Wallace and Kristy (Jason) Anderson; six great-grandchildren (Taylor, Trenton, Nicholas, Peyton, Gavin and Graycee); sister Shirley Hill of Cudahy, WI and brother John Wallace of Sunset, SC. Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, PA. The family will receive friends at Asbury United Methodist Church on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 10 until 11 am followed by a memorial service celebrating Tom’s life at 11:00 am with Rev. Donald Kephart officiating. The family wishes to recognize his nurse Diane Kutzer and the staff at Peroni Personal Care Home and Fayette Homecare & Hospice for such loving care during the last part of his life. The family suggests donations in Tom’s memory be made to Asbury United Methodist Church, 20 Dunbar Street, Uniontown, PA.
