Edmund A. Slampak
Passed: Tuesday August 1, 2017

Edmund A. Slampak, age 66, of Uniontown, PA passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at his home. He was born January 29, 1951 in Uniontown, PA son of the late Joseph J. Slampak and Lorretta M. Zehel Slampak. Ed attended the Hopwood United Methodist Church. He was a 1968 graduate of Laurel Highlands School District and he had a teaching degree in education from California University of Pennsylvania. Ed worked as an outside technician for Verizon. He was a member of Communications Workers of America Local 13,000. He collected baseball cards and Star Wars memorabilia. He enjoyed taking family photographs and photos of the grandchildren and making family pictorial history. Left to cherish Ed’s memory are his wife of 23 years, Francene Krahling Slampak; sons, Matthew Scott McCormick and wife Tiffany Kay of Glen Burnie, MD, John Paul McCormick of Verona, PA; daughter, Shannon Rebekah McAllister and husband Brian of Uniontown, PA; brothers, David A. Slampak and wife Sherry of Uniontown, PA and Joseph E. Slampak, Jr. of Uniontown, PA and four grandchildren who were the wonderful light of his life, Campbell Skye McCormick, Maddox Liam McAllister, Grace Madison McAllister and Rooney Quinn McCormick. Also, dear to Ed were his niece, Angela Ann Slampak Cindric, nephew, David Andrew Slampak, Jr. and niece, April Ann Slampak Craig. Also surviving are his aunt, Cecelia Sofranko, and nephew, Richard Sofranko and wife Amy. Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA where family and friends will be received on Friday, August 4, 2017 from 2 until 4 pm and 6 until 8 pm. Visitation will continue in the funeral home on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 10 until 11 am followed by a service celebrating Ed’s life at 11:00 am with Pastor Randy Costolo officiating.
