Richard D. Rennie
Passed: Saturday January 19, 2019

Richard D. Rennie, age 73, of Uniontown, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, PA. He was born in Uniontown on August 22, 1945 son of the late Robert D. Rennie and Irma Clair Smith Rennie. Rich was a graduate of Uniontown High School with the Class of 1964. He served in the PA Army National Guard Twenty-Eighth Infantry Division for forty-two years and retired as a First Sergeant. He was employed at U.S. Steel Filbert Shop as an electrician and then worked for Foundation Coal/Alpha Natural Resources as a safety and electrical instructor before his retirement in 2007. Rich was a member of AMVETS Post 103 and Hutchinson Sportsman’s Club, both of Hopwood, and the Laurel Valley Corvette Club. Rich was a fiercely loyal friend with a kind and gentle heart, who could always make you smile. He enjoyed working on cars, tinkering in the garage, and fishing, especially with his grandchildren. Rich was active with his high school class reunion committee but, most of all, loved spending time withhis family. Left to cherish Rich’s memory are his loving wife of fifty-one years, Linda Hough Rennie;two daughters, Lori Knapp and husband Rob of Greensburg and Kristi Fellers and husband Denny of Latrobe; four grandchildren, Alec and Izzy Knapp and Haleigh and Camden Fellers; three brothers, James Rennie and wife Marianne of Dublin, OH, Charles Rennie and wife Elizabeth of Borrego Springs, CA, and Thomas Rennie and wife Judy of Ephrata, PA; three sisters, Nancy Synowiec of Evansville, IN, Becky Collier and husband Dave of Irwin, PA, and Jeannie Vig and husband Gary of Barboursville, WV and many loving nieces, nephews and his cat Morgan. Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA where the family will receive friends on Monday, January 21st from 6 until 8 PM on Tuesday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 PM. Visitation will continue in the funeral home on Wednesday, January 23rd from 10 until 11AM followed by a service celebrating Rich’s life at 11 AM with Rev. Andrew Wirt officiating. Military rites will be accorded by AMVETS Post 103 in Sylvan Heights Cemetery Mausoleum.
