James W. King, Jr.
Passed: Sunday February 24, 2019

James W. King, Jr., age 75, of Uniontown, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019 in Shadyside Hospital. He was born in Uniontown, PA on August 6, 1943 son of James W. King, Sr. and Betty Lawson King. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jamie Lynn King and brother George L. King. Jim was a 1962 graduate of Uniontown High School. He was a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local #354 for 55 years. Give him sunshine and a project and he was the happiest man in the world. He enjoyed racing snowmobiles and riding his Harley. He also enjoyed hunting, spending time with the guys at Jeff’s garage and playing cards at Hutchinson Sportsmen’s Club and REM Hunting Lodge. He was a member of Fayette Lodge #228 F&AM, Lodge of Perfection, Pittsburgh Consistory, Syria Shrine Caravan #9, BPO Elks #370, Past President of Hutchinson Sportsmen’s Club and life member, member of REM Hunting Club. Jim served on the South Union Township Universal Construction Code Board and International Property Maintenance Appeals Board. Left to cherish Jim’s memory are his wife, Carole Conn King; loving companion of many years, Christine Bedner; son Melvin and wife Kimberly (Sabatula) King “his favorite daughter-in-law” of Uniontown; sisters-in-law, Sandra Confer King of Uniontown and Darlene Conn Fronk and husband Gene of Sebring, FL; sister Nancy Shaffer and husband Harris of Mantua, OH; several nieces and nephews and his little buddy, A.J. Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA where family and friends will be received on Thursday, February 28th from 2 until 8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 until 11 a.m. followed by a service celebrating Jim’s life at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jane Duffield officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery. Donations in memory of Jim may be made to a charity of choice.
