Alice W. Jefferys
Passed: Sunday June 2, 2019

On May 9, 1924, Alice Jefferys was born the youngest daughter to the late Arthur and Bessie (Morris) Smith. On Sunday, June 2, 2019 her life journey came to an end. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by all of her siblings. Sister, Mary (Smith) Bock, sister, Marg (Smith) Reynolds and brother William Smith who served in World War II. During her 95-year life span, she experienced many things including the Great Depression, the affects of World War II, watched the first moon walk, was one of the first families in her neighborhood to enjoy color television, saw the invention of the Internet and the love and loss of family and friends. Alice married the love of her life, Charles W. Jefferys and had 56 wonderful years with him. They shared a love and devotion few people will know. They lost an infant daughter, Debra early in their marriage. In 1963 their only surviving daughter Lisa joined the family. Alice enjoyed many things through the years: being a member of the Tent Presbyterian Church, the Circle Club, Christian Women’s Club, crafting, dancing and her loyal companion Tweety, her 25-year-old cockatiel. Surviving family members are daughter Lisa and partner Nancy, nephew, Ken Bock and wife Gloria and family, niece Nancy (Bock) Swaney and husband Tom and extended family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA where family and friends will be received on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue in the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM followed by a service celebrating Alice’s life at 11:00 AM with Rev. James Gear officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery. Alice was an animal lover for her entire life.
