James L. Williams, Sr.
Passed: Sunday June 2, 2019

James L. Williams, age 92, of Uniontown, PA, died peacefully, Sunday, June 2, 2019. He was born June 7, 1926 in Monongahela, PA the son of Charles D. (Linn) Williams and Ellen Sumner Williams. In addition to his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by a sister, Harriett Lees and an infant brother, Charles E. Williams. Jim was a graduate of Monongahela High School with the class of 1944. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps during the World War II in the European Theatre of Operation then attended the University if Pittsburgh. Jim worked as a Quality Control Superintendent at Duraloy Technologies, Inc. and then became a Real Estate Agent for David S Cooper Agency. Jim belonged to Third Presbyterian Church, sang in the choir, served as an elder and was a member of the John Knox Bible Class. He was a former member of Mingo Presbyterian Church in Finleyville, PA. Left to cherish Jim’s memory are his loving wife, Hazel VanVoorhis Williams; two sons, James L. Williams, Jr. and John G. Williams and wife, Diane all of Uniontown; two daughters, Carolyn Jacob and husband William of Dublin, OH and Suzanne L. Williams and husband Jeff Martinec of Uniontown; eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, PA, where friends will be received on Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 2 until 4 PM and 6 until 8 PM. Visitation will continue in the Mingo Presbyterian Church, Finleyville on Friday, June 7, 2019 from 10 until 11 AM followed by a service celebrating Jim’s life with Rev. Glenn McClelland officiating. Interment will follow in the Mingo Cemetery. On Thursday the Grace Bible Class will conduct a service at 3:00 PM and the John Knox Bible Class will conduct a service a 3:30 PM. Military Rites will be accorded by AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at adferguson.com and on the funeral home Face Book page. The family suggests donations to the historic Mingo Cemetery, Finleyville, PA.
