Della M. Hatter Melvin, age 92, of Adah, passed away October 20, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 1, 1932 in Morrell daughter of the late Andrew Hatter and Lila Basinger Hatter. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Mallie L. Melvin, Jr., son, Michael Melvin.; daughter, Sherry Neff and twelve siblings.
Della was a member of The Church of God. She previously worked at Anchor Hocking and Keystone Fireworks. Della volunteered for the Fayette County Community Food Bank and she enjoyed cooking, cutting wood, weed eating, growing tomatoes and green beans and crafting.
Left to cherish Della’s memory are her daughters, Cathy Melvin of Okeechobee, FL and Teresa Walk of Connellsville; son, Mark Melvin of Adah; brother, Gifford Hatter of Morrell, Pa; nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA where family and friends will be received on Friday, October 25th from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue in the funeral home on Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m. followed by a service celebrating Della’s life at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Frank Menhart officiating. Interment will follow in Greendale Cemetery.
