Hazel June (Flynn) Hertznell

Hazel June (Flynn) Hertznell, 64, of Connellsville, PA, passed away Friday October 4, 2024 in UPMC Montefiore Hospital with her family by her side.  She was born April 30, 1960 in Connellsville, PA of the late Marshall W. Flynn, Sr. and Betty Jane Strothers Flynn.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Bobbi Jo Higgins; brothers, Marshall” Woodie” Flynn, Jr., Ronald “Milo” Flynn, Danny Flynn and Richard “Bones” Flynn.

 

Hazel graduated from Connellsvile High School with the class of 1978.  She worked for many years as an apparel associate for Walmart. Hazel loved going to bingo, the Steelers, going to camp and her cats.

 

Left to cherish Hazel’s memory are her husband, John R. Hertznell; children, Jennifer Higgins (Vinny), Ryan Higgins (Melissa), Krista Hall (Luke), Zachary O’Nell; grandchildren, Andrew, Avery, Avalla, Scarlett, Cameron, Caralyn and Rowyn, sisters, Patricia Schaum of New Martinsville, WV and Daisy Huffine (Ronald) of Leisenring, PA; brothers, Ray “PeeWee” Williams, Jr. of Morgantown, WV; David Flynn (Maribel) of Japan, James “Mike” Flynn (Crystal) of Connellsville, Robert “Bobby” Flynn (Debbie) of Connellsville and Timothy Flynn of Scottdale, PA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, PA, where family and friends will be received on Thursday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 PM. Visitation will continue in the funeral home on Friday, October 11, 2024 from 10 until 11 AM followed by a service celebrating Hazel’s life at 11 AM with Pastor Chris Varney officiating.  Interment will follow in Green Ridge Cemetery, Connellsville, PA.

Such a loving, caring, compassionate, free spirited person she was taken way to soon she is loved and missed dearly I’ll be praying for her and her children may she rest in peace and fly high with those angels we love you aunt june
